Review: Spartan Frost (Mythos Academy #4.5) by Jennifer Estep

First things first, I'm disappointed about the cover, really. Why Logan isn't on the cover? It's his novella, so he should be there! ( I know, I know, I'm complaining because I wanted to see hot male cover model, not because I don't like that one...)

Title: Spartan Frost (Mythos Academy #4.5)

Summary:

I’m Logan Quinn, the deadliest Spartan warrior at Mythos Academy. At least I was — until the day I almost killed Gwen Frost.

Professor Metis and Nickamedes say that I’m fine, that Loki and the Reapers don’t have a hold on me anymore, but I can’t risk it. I can’t risk hurting Gwen again. So I’m leaving Mythos and going somewhere far, far away.

I know Gwen wonders what’s happening to me, whether I’m safe. I can’t tell her, but this is my story …

 Review:

I recived Spartan Frost from Publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

My love for Mythos Academy started about two years ago, when I'd read Touch of Frost, fantastic start to this exciting, unique and dynamic series, that follows Gwen Frost and her fight with evil mitological creatures.

You can imagine my happiness when I first heard about Logan's ( Gwen's love interest) novella.  I almost fainted because of this news! I mean, hello, our alpha male Spartan will get his words in  Mythos Academy, and after tragical end of Crimson Frost it was everything I could dream of.

I expected Spartan Frost to be heartbreaking confession of Logan's feeling and exposure of his hidden secrets or just a taste of his awesomness , meanwhile I got 47 pages of Logan's short escapade with Protectorate. And that made me humpf. I mean, I was like "why?".

I had made bad assumptions, which led me to believe, that this novella will be psychological portet of Spartan, and unfortunately it was not.  In return, I got an badass adventure and small glimpses of Logan's feeling toward Gwen. Which made me not fully satisfied.

In my opinion, Spartan Frost is a must read for every fan of Logan freakin' Quinn, there is no doubt about it, but if you are not, then it could be waste for you.

Now, I'm really itching for Midnight Frost! I hope we'll see more of Logan there.

Review: Secret for a Song by S.K. Falls

 Title: Secret for a Song
 Author: S. K Falls
 Release Date: June 2013
 add to Goodreads

Summary:

Saylor Grayson makes herself sick. Literally.

She ate her first needle when she was seven. Now, at nineteen, she’s been kicked out of college for poisoning herself with laxatives. The shrinks call it Munchausen Syndrome. All Saylor knows is that when she’s ill, her normally distant mother pays attention and the doctors and nurses make her feel special.

Then she meets Drew Dean, the leader of a local support group for those with terminal diseases. When he mistakes her for a new member, Saylor knows she should correct him. But she can’t bring herself to, not after she’s welcomed into a new circle of friends. Friends who, like Drew, all have illnesses ready to claim their independence or their lives.

For the first time, Saylor finds out what it feels like to be in love, to have friends who genuinely care about her. But secrets have a way of revealing themselves. What will happen when Saylor’s is out?

Review:

Secret for a Song it's first book by S.K Falls I've ever read, so I can honestly say I didn't have any idea what to expect. I only knew that blurb looked interesting in 'out-of-the-moon' way. I mean I have never heard about people who like to be sick and are hurting themselves in this way. After reading the premise I thought I have to read it. Period. I'm very curios creature so I always poke my nose in variety of situations and lots of them involve me reading books that are out of my comfort zone. Sometimes I hate them and myslef for being stupid enough to buy it and read it but for time to time I can find a hidden gem. I can confess I've done it again and I'm very happy to announce that Secret for a Song is a rough diamond.

Secret of a Song is a story about Saylor Greyson mentally ill nineteen year old who suffers from Munchausen Syndrome you can read more about it here. From the day she swallowed needle she's obsessed with diseases. She's like medical encyclopedia! She finds variety of ways to make herself sick. She catches pneumonia infections, she poisons herself and so on. She's hurting herself for attention, love and closure, and probably most of you will hate her and think she's twisted and sick. And it will be the truth.

"For someone like me, who wore disease like a well-loved sweater, it was important to analyze the cost-benefit ratio of amount of effort required to get disease versus how long the disease lasted. And, of course, how severe it could potentially get. There was a science to it all."

"Seeing the worry on the doctors' and nurses' faces was a glourious, religious experience."

"I thought about the weird parallels between my life and that of a
junkie’s. We both closed ourselves into the bathroom first thing in the morning, syringe gripped in our sweaty little hands like it might be the nectar to life we’d been searching for. We stabbed ourselves willingly for a momentary high, for that rush that made life less boring, made it more like something we’d been promised by a steady diet of angst-y teen drama on TV."

Her Psychiatrist Dr. Stone gives her opportunity for volunteering at hospital, something she always dreamed to do, but of course she couldn't do anything that involved being near medical equipment. So Saylor started helping with preparations for supportive group meetings.

And this way she meets TIDD group, a bunch of young people her age who are terminally ill.

At the beginning it's like experiment for her, she starts lying and spending time with people who has something's she's jealous of - disease.

At the beginning I hated Saylor I thought she was selfish little brat and I was disgusted by her actions, but after a while I started to understand her.

Secret for a Song broke my heart and made me cry.

This book is a must read for every fan of The Fault in our Stars. It's a story that will blow your mind, make you cry and hurt along with charaters. It shows how fragile is true life and how understimated are people who suffer from diseases.

Review: Beautiful Broken Rules by Kimberly Lauren

 Title: Beautiful Broken Rules

 Summary:

What happens when you create rules to keep others out?

One thing Emerson Moore has come to terms with is that she is the school slut. She knows her way around a frat house and how to get what she wants. She doesn’t make any excuses for her actions and she doesn’t pretend to be anything different. She is who she is and with that she knows how to have a good time. She’s made rules to keep relationships at bay and avoid the demons of her past.

When her best friend, Cole has his two friends from back home move in with him she begins to think she has met her match with Jaxon Riley. Jax is the perfect mixture of tattooed muscle and a sweet-talking mouth. With “hand” written notes, a voice that exudes sex and knowing just how to get under her skin, Jaxon learns how to break all the rules. But will he just end up breaking her heart anyway?

New Adult/Adult Contemporary Romance - recommended for ages 18 and up

Review:

Emmerson is school slut and has exactly three  rules:

"never sleep with someone that a friend has feelings for, never sleep with someone who is in a known relationship (when this isn't disclosed to me, it is not my fault), and finally, never sleep with someone more than three times."

Sadly, she's doing everything she can to be seen as a whore, because this is her coping mechanism.
Knowing about this made me hestitant about reading Beautiful Broken Rules, because if I don't like a protagonist, I can't connect with the story and in this case, something like this has happened. I knew I should stay away from a book where main character is a "slut" and she feels good with it, but then I thought that maybe, just maybe I'll understand her reasons or she would have another virtues that will make me like her. But unfortunately, that didn't happen.
And what to say about the rest?

Hmm... almost everything was hidden and unexplored by me, because I was only thinking about Emm and her actions, which were bad. I guess I should feel the same when I read a book with male who's whoring himself, but to be honest, when they fall they're always genuine. Em was hurting everyone, including herself and Jaxon.

Summing up,

great potential - not so fine main character = 3 daises.

Maybe book about Jace will be awesome? I hope so, because I know I'll give Kimberly Lauren another chance.

Review: Forever of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen

Title: Forever of Ella and Micha (Secret #2)
Author: Jessica Sorensen
Release Date: 28th May 2013
add to Goodreads

Summary:

Ella and Micha have survived tragedy and heartbreak. When they're together, anything seems possible. But now they are thousands of miles apart, and managing their long distance relationship will put their love to the test.

Ella is back at school, trying hard not worry so much about her future. But with her father in and out of rehab, she's having a hard time making it through the days. All she wants is Micha by her side, but she refuses to let her problems get in the way of his dreams.

Micha spends his days touring the country with his band, but deep down he knows something is missing. Being away from Ella is harder than he thought it would be. He wants her closer to him-needs her with him. But he won't ask her to leave college, just to be with him.

The few moments they do spend together are intense and passionate, but it only makes it more difficult when they have to part. They know they want to be together, but is wanting something enough to get them to their forever?

My Review:

“I’ll always be with you, inside and out,” she reads it. “Through hard times and helpless ones, through love, through doubt.”

The Forever of Ella and Micha is highly anticipated sequel that follows relationship between Ella and Micha and shows that even if a couple gets together not everything is always perfect.  I have to confess I was a little hestitant toward follow-up to Secret of Ella and Micha, because I thought the ending in the first book was right and that it didn't need a sequel. Unfortunately, some of my concerns, proved to be right.

" A forever? Does a thing such exist?"

Ella is back in school and is dealing with her emotional issues while Micha is touring with his new band. Long distance between them becomes another obstacle and both of them quickly realize that their relationship wouldn't be unicorns and rainbows.

Ella has problems with her dad, notoriuos alcoholic, who don't want to be in rehab, besides that, she's fighting with guilt, loneliness and depression. I really liked Ella in Secret, but in Forever she has totally changed, and sadly not for the better. Sometimes I had enough of her actions and thougts. I missed her spunk and willpower that glittered in first book. I don't want to spoil anything, but in nutshell she's the one that is destroying everything with Micha. Actually it is base of the plot.

Micha, like always, made me smile. He's everything a girl want to have in her man. Handsome rockstar with pirced lip that has lot of courage and softed side. I love how he fights for future with Ella. How he is not giving up on her, even when she hurts him badly. It made me swoon, he really is a modern Prince Charming.

"Ella is it for me. The way I feel about her is never going to change. I will love her forever, but I need her closer to me, not thousands of miles away. "

Plot had a lot of potential, but it was not exploited. Sadly, I have to say, that it would be better for the story if  sequel was never written. I had a feeling lots of situations were forced, because the book still  didn't have enough pages. It is like jumping from one catastrophe to the second one and it doesn't give me satisfaction.

On the other hand Jessica Sorensen created amazing story about first love, first commitment and fear that is standing on the way to happiness. Which makes it worth buying and reading.

First book in series Secret of Ella and Micha

Review: Friend-Zoned by Belle Aurora

Title: Friend - Zoned (Friend- Zoned #1)
Author: Belle Aurora
Release Date: 13 April 2013
add to Goodreads

Summary:

Nikolai Leokov never thought he'd fall in love with the only girl he's ever befriended.

Valentina Tomic has issues with commitment after the ultimate betrayal.

When Tina decides to make broody Nik's day better, she never thought she would end up friends with the hard man.

Nik has never had a woman be so affectionate to him without expecting something in return.

Nik and Tina cordially invite you to read Friend-zoned.

A story of friendship, humour and love

My Review

Friend-zoned is sweet, charming and delightful read that totally stumped on my expectations (which, frankly were really low, and now I'm ashmed because of even thinking it'd be meh kind of book). Belle Aurora created cute, quirky story packed with drama and action that made my heart clench and took me high above the ground because it was everything that I love in romance books.

Tina Tomic, owner of Safira clothing store  while looking out of her store window observes broody, sad but handsome man who's taking his smoke breaks. It quickly becomes her fascination and she can't throw him out of her mind. That's why she sends him candy and wax lips with card saying:

"Smile sometimes, handsome"

This is a beginning to theirs relationship, which isn't going as you think it should go, because Tina doesn't ask Nikolai Leokov out, instead she says:

“So we can be friends, right?”

Wait, what?

I stare at her, a frown forming at my mouth.

Did I…? Did I just get Friend-zoned?

I look over again to see Tina nodding vigorously and smiling brightly.

Wow, this has never happened to me before.

And this is a start for their rollercoster ride, a ride that'll change both of them. I really enjoyed the relationship between the main characters. It was refreshing to read a romance book without insta love, where you can clearly see as the feelings between protagonists progress.

I have to say that I adore the way Belle Aurora created characters, every one of them is so realistic and adorable! Tina's friends are awesome! All the characters are easy to relate with, because of the fact  they stand up for themselves, laugh and have fun together, cry and hurt with one another one and frankly you can call them a role model friends, and you wouldn't be lying. At all. Each of them is unique and individual, has his/hers flaws and virtues. Besides Aurora's BOYS ARE HOT!

Friend-Zoned is  refreshing read, where comedy is perfectly blending with realistic world. There is
humor, qurkiness, but don't let it fool you. Friend-zoned is hidding deeper emotions and drama.
Summing up, I laughed. I cried. I cringes. I felt hot. I swooned. Then I laughed some more. And shed some more tears.

Now I'm waiting for second book in Friend-Zoned Series called love thy neighbour which is about Nat and Ghost, squee!

it's almost
time for war.
Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.

She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.

Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life.

My Review

It’s really hard for me to write this review, because for the first time in my entire life I have no idea what to say, and you have to know there is a little things in this world that could make me speechless. Unfortunately  Unravel me was one of those things. I mean why, WHY THE FUCK it turned out to be everything I was afraid it would be? WHY MAFI HAS DONE THIS TO ME ???????

First and foremost I love Ms. Mafi for her writing. There is nothing in this world that can make me so vulnerable and exposed. I mean I rarely feel this way when I’m reading prose, It’s mostly poetry that can make me undone, but here, oh god, sometimes it was painful (in good way of course) to read another word, sentence.  I loved every metaphor, every  allegory and comparison, I felt like it was bleeding with it, making reading ya book entirely different experience.  More mature and I don’t know, more developed in every way.

After finishing Shatter me more than a year ago I knew Unravel me would be fantastic, I had no reason to think differently, but I was scared that author would make me hate it too. And it has happened. There were so many things I hated! So many things I despised that I would gladly rip off some pages from book (good think I have an e –reader, though). I’m feeling miserable because of it, especially since paradoxically  I loved Unravel me with every fiber of my broken heart.

What do I hate then? Don’t read it if you are a psycho Warner fan or hadn’t read this book yet. There’ll be lot of spoilers.

So firstly, WARNER.

I feel like writing an entire epos about my hate for this boy. So skip it if you don’t share my opinion or don’t like using bad words, couse I’m feeling fuckin’ insane right now and will be cursing lot.
I mean how can anyone LIKE THIS SOCIOPATH? HOW?????????

What’s wrong with girl who are drooling and fainting and all that shit over him because his GOREGOUS? Half of men population is good looking, does it mean I should fucked them? No. This means I should cross my fucking legs hard and don’t come closer with my vagina. The fact that he killed a soldier, tortured and manipulated people and made Juliette hurt another human being is purely WRONG. Like bad! I mean, Warner’s a sick bastard and the fact that he has even more sociopathic father doesn’t mean he can kill people and girls will understand it cause he wasn’t loved and had bad childhood. Guess what? Half of people had crap in their lives and we have only few percent of son of a bitches. So, Warner? IS A BAD KITTY. Doesn’t matter he's fluffy, and has a nice name – Aaron. Or he hadn’t killed a puppy.

I HATE FUCKING LOVE TRAINGLES, is simple as that, and when an author is doing this shit in  a book I love I’m going insane. SO PLEASE STOP. NOT EVERY TEENAGE GIRL WANTS TO HAVE TWO COCKS. I think one is enough and I’m 19 for fuck’s sake.  And I think when you’re in love you’re not messing with other boy. Is simple as that.

Juliette made me mad so many times, I was happy and jumped in joy when Kenji told her to get her shit together, almost the only thing she did was mopping around and crying. Oh and saying sorry and I didn’t mean that.

“oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry”

So, fuck yeah Kenji for saying something brilliant!

I was furious with her when she made out with Warner, almost gone all the way, and then started telling oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry oh, I’m so sorry, I  I didn’t mean that I didn’t mean that I didn’t mean that I didn’t mean that I didn’t mean that I didn’t mean that I didn’t mean that I didn’t mean that I didn’t mean that I didn’t mean that I didn’t mean that.
I love Adam!!! – holly fucking Nobel Prize for her that she remembered that fact.  Really.

And Adam… oh, fuck, I adore him. Even when his making mistakes he sees it and his trying to be better person. I wish I could be like him, so strong and loyal. I think he wasn’t really appreciated in this book. Yes, he gets his moments, but they are a small parts in comparison to Warner or even Kenji..  it’s sad.

Anyway I’m giving this book five daises. Why? Because I loved it as much as I hated it. And I hope in sequel will see Adam and Juliette helplessly in love without WARNER lurking around, cause he’ll be locked in really small cage with starving mama bear. And Juliette will get her shit together and stop saying sorry for every disaster in this fucking world.

Review: Ocean Kills by Jade Hart

 Title: Ocean Kills
Author: Jade Hart
Release Date: 5th December 2012
Add to Goodreads

Summary:

Around the world, murderers and rapists pick off the innocent. Killing loved ones, separating families, and ruining lives.

As an eight-year-old girl, Ocean witnessed her family’s massacre and something altered inside her. Twisting her genetic code… unlocking an ability to teleport.

Ocean Breeze was never destined to be normal, especially having been named after air-freshener. She’s a shadow, a ghost—a dark saviour of the innocent. Armed with a switchblade in her bra, and a box-cutter in her pocket, she hunts the filth of the world.

Callan Bliss is a Sydney police officer whose skill-set is far above that of a normal cop. All his fellow officers see is a hard worker who loves to catch perpetrators and surf, but that’s because they don’t know about his past. When Callan arrests a suspicious-looking prostitute, he comes face-to-face with a self-confessed vigilante, and suddenly, his secrets aren’t so easy to keep silent.

Ocean hates the police with a passion, and has no intention of being held captive by a cop, even if he is sexy as hell. Teleporting from under his nose, Ocean hunts her next target—a man responsible for the largest sex ring in South Africa—and now he’s about to die. But she doesn’t count on Callan giving chase, nor the body-quaking lust that consumes them. However, Ocean's dark hobbies take precedence over what her heart wants—her thirst for murdering is killing her too, and not even Callan can save her.

Ocean Kills is sexy - smexy, funny and incredible thrilling book debiut by Jade Hart

Ocean Kills is the first book in the Ocean Breeze series by Jade Hart and an amazing new adult novel. I had the opportunity to read the ARC of "Ocean Kills" which made my day a lot of more enjoyable than I thought it could turn out to be. Actually when I got an e-mail from the author with attached ebook I screamed in joy and started reading it immadiately. Who cared about history exam, which in fact I probably failed? Freaking no one. Espacially not me. I read it almost all night, muttering to myself I’ll read only one more chapter, one more… and ended reading it to the very last page. Do you guys know that feeling, when your eyes are burning and you’re so freaking tired you cannot think straight but still on your face is this psycho grin? I went to school and slept in my lessons, but that didn’t really matter! History exam could take me down to the hell, and still  I wouldn’t regret it.

„My name is Ocean Breeze. Yep. Ocean freakin' Breeze. It was my mom's attempt at some posh-sounding name. She was inspired by—get this—a bottle of toilet air-freshener”

Ocean Kills is a story about 24 year old Ocean Brezze, who’s family were murdered on here eyes when she was only a little girl. She was raped by the same two men who have done it. And this incident ruined her life. From that moment she wanted only venegance. The strange ability to teleport made it a lot of easier. Ocean started to kill everyone who hurt other people. Killing become her obsession. She was like a freaking Robin Hood in skirt with a knife instead of bow! Ocean was intense, kick ass character with witty sense of humor and let’s underlined it she liked to castrate men. Yeah. I kind of flipped when I read that she actually, you know, cut of some guy’s dick. I’d live without this little detail (hmm… I kind of hope it was little…). But her life was married only to the Job she done, to the moment when she was arrested, because of prostitution. Let’s only say that meeting sexy smexy cop began new set of problems for Ocean. Now, she didn’t want to get away from pair of handcuffs, she wanted Officer Bliss to used them on her… ‘Stop that, Ocean. You're dirtier than a truck driver.”
Yeah, Ocean better stop that, because I’m starting to be dirtier than you and that truck driver!

Oh my Gods! I loved everything in this book. Seriously, can’t wait to read second one and see a lot more of Callan, hot-as-fuck, Officer Bliss. „Him! Oh my God. Him”

Ocean Kills gets from me 5 sweet pink daises:

Review of Survivng Raine by Shay Savage

Title: Surviving Raine
Author:  Shay Savage
Release Date: 21th May 2013
Add to Goodreads

Summary:

As the captain of a schooner catering to the elite on the Caribbean Seas, Sebastian Stark does his best to avoid any human encounters. Interacting with people isn’t his thing, and he prefers the company of a bottle of vodka, a shot glass, and maybe a whore. There’s no doubt he’s hiding from a checkered past, but he does well keeping everything to himself…

…until the night his schooner capsizes, and he’s stuck on a life raft with one of the passengers.

Raine’s young, she’s cute, and Bastian would probably be into her if he wasn’t suffering from alcohol withdrawal. As the days pass, DTs, starvation, and dehydration become the norm. Even the most closed person starts to open up when he thinks he’s going to die, but when she realizes their traumatic pasts are connected, it’s no longer the elements that have Bastian concerned.

He has no idea how he’s going to Survive Raine.

My Review

Surviving Raine is a story about Sebastian, captain of a ship that makes cruises on Caribbean Sea. Sebastian is antisocial alcholic who has sex only with hookers. And one day when he's shitfaced, his ship sinks *drum rolls*. People are saving themselves by going for lifeboats, and this idiot, I mean main character passes out. Smart, isn't he? Anyway, when he wakes up he's alone and there isn't any lieboat for him, so Sebastian uses surviving kit and watches as his ship, his only home sinks. Oh, did I mention, that he saved a girl who was drawning?

So, no we have beautiful Caribbean sea:

a raft:

and Captain Sexy The Biggest Asshole of the Whole World:

and Raine Ms. Naive-I'm-so-fluffy-I-want-to-puke. Twice.

So let’s imagine what can happen on a small raft between fucked up alcoholic who's on detox and 20 old year girl who doesn’t  know shit about life, when we mix them and say ‘abracadabra’, shall we?
That’s what we now have:

"Well, is there something I can do to help with that?" she asked, "or are you just going to yell at me all the time?"

That was it. I couldn't hold my temper back any longer.

"Yeah, there is something you can do," I said coldly, turning my glare at her. "Come here and blow me. That would probably ease a bit of my tension - especially if you swallow."</b>

"Fucking hell!” I screamed, shoving her off of me.  She was so light, I tossed her into the other side of the raft where she bounced against the fabric wall.
“I’m sorry!” she screamed again.
“Holy shit, bitch!” I yelled.  “You could have taken my fucking eye out!”

“Should have fucking let you drown!”

“One fucking shot!” I screamed out, causing Raine to jump and let out a little squeaking sound.  I narrowed my eyes, realizing she had been touching my shoulder again.

“Are you a fucking mouse?”
“No,” Raine said cautiously.  “Why would you ask me that?”
“Because you fucking squeak,” I snarled.  “Don’t do that again.”
“You startled me.”
“I’ll do a whole hell of a lot more than that if you don’t shut the fuck up and quit touching me.”

"Are you fucking deaf now, too?”

"I sighed and sipped at the cup of water for a minute before I finally looked over to her.  Aside from looking like she probably hadn’t slept more than an hour, there was a barely visible bruise on her right cheek.  My stomach lurched and tightened.
“Where did that come from?” I asked, almost a thousand percent sure I didn’t want to know the answer.
“What?”
“The fucking bruise on your face.  What the fuck happened?”
Her eyes flickered away for a moment, and then she looked back to me and locked her gaze with mine.
“You hit me”

And after a while we have lots of this:

Summing up, Sebastian is a dick, and  I don’t understand how Raine  could handle him. Of course he has had his moments, but for me it wasn’t worth it. At all. I wish I could say he has changed, but at the end of the book he acted the same, of course he didn’t call her names, but wasn’t respecting her either.

This book holds wonderful potential and I know that lots of women will fall for Sebastian, but unfortunately that woman was not me. It wasn’t the ole’ bad boy attitude I love, Sebastian is just fucked up, so much I don’t see when the good and evil has an end in him.

The characters made me want to pull my hair out, that’s why Surviving Raine will get only 3 pink daises from me.  Minus one because of Dickward of The Year (I mean people say shit about Daemon Black or Travis Maddox! What I have to say about this jerk…) and Minus for Raine (I’m nineteen and I would not let someone treat me this way! For the fuck’s sake she is a woman not a bitch!)
